Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) CEO Tim Hudak was named as one of North American real estate’s most powerful and influential people in the 11th annual Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200), released earlier this week by T3 Sixty. The SP 200 recognizes the real estate leaders and executives who have led the charge and made an impact in the real estate profession.

In 2023, under the leadership of Hudak, OREA played a key role in working with the Government of Ontario to get more homes built. He led OREA’s advocacy efforts to address the housing affordability crisis, calling on all levels of government to focus on issues like student loan debt, skilled trade worker shortages, and outdated policies. Working with other leaders and Ontario REALTORS®, Hudak continues to help pave the way for the future of housing in the province by championing pro-housing solutions that will help Ontario meet the goal of building 1.5 million new homes in the next decade.

Hudak also led the Association in successfully advocating for impactful regulations in the second phase of the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA), which came into effect on December 1st, making Ontario REALTORS® North American leaders when it comes to professionalism, education, and modern business tools in real estate. The new TRESA regulations ensure that the next generation of Canadian homeowners can be confident that the REALTOR® by their side is held to the highest professional standards.

Hudak also played a key role in the creation and implementation of the Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Program (ORWP), which now supports OREA’s 103,000 Members - closing the gap for the tens of thousands of REALTORS® without access to important healthcare benefits or insurance.

“It’s a great honour to once again be recognized as an impactful leader in the North American real estate profession by the Swanepoel 200,” said Hudak. “I’d also like to thank and acknowledge our President Tania Artenosi, our 103,000 Members and 29 Member Boards, the Government of Ontario, and OREA staff for continuing to fight to keep the dream of homeownership alive and helping young Ontarians get the keys to a great place to call home.”

The 2024 list can be found at sp200.com. Released annually in January, the SP 200 ranks the most powerful and influential executives in the residential real estate brokerage industry using research, analysis, and careful debate.
