Ontario REALTORS ® applaud Ontario Government’s new ‘Golden Girls’ Co-Ownership Guidebook

“Ontario’s lack of housing supply is putting increasing pressure on many young families and millennials who are trying to break into the housing market, and on others – like seniors – who are looking for affordable home ownership options.

“Ontario’s lack of housing supply is putting increasing pressure on many young families and millennials who are trying to break into the housing market, and on others – like seniors – who are looking for affordable home ownership options. Reversing the decline in home ownership and addressing the housing crisis will take a lot of hard work combined with new, innovative ideas, like co-ownership. Co-owning a home makes housing more affordable and gives people more choices when it comes to location, size, and type of home available within their budget.

MPP Lindsey Park of Durham has shown real leadership by championing this cause earlier this year in the Legislature through a Private Member’s Bill that OREA supported. Today, Ontario’s REALTORS are pleased to see the Ford Government and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Steve Clark, continuing the conversation through their new guidebook, which aims to educate our province’s hopeful buyers on modern ways they can realize their dream of home ownership.”
