OREA CEO Tim Hudak was named one of real estate’s most influential leaders and executives in North America again in the annual Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200), released this week by T3 Sixty, the residential real estate brokerage industry’s leading management consulting and research firm.
TORONTO, ON – OREA CEO Tim Hudak was named one of real estate’s most influential leaders and executives in North America again in the annual Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200), released this week by T3 Sixty, the residential real estate brokerage industry’s leading management consulting and research firm. The SP 200 highlights the real estate leaders and executives across facets of the industry who have made a difference and will lead, shape, and forever impact the industry for many years to come.
Hudak led OREA’s government relations initiatives and successes in 2021, specifically in regards to tackling the housing affordability crisis in Ontario. Through advocacy with all levels of government, Hudak led the charge in highlighting housing affordability as a top-of-mind election issue. Because of his leadership, Hudak was named to the Government of Ontario’s new Housing Affordability Taskforce, which will explore measures to address housing affordability, including increasing the supply of market housing, reducing red tape and accelerating timelines, and supporting economic recovery and job creation.
Hudak oversaw OREA’s biggest advocacy successes in 2021, lobbying and working with the Government of Ontario to act on OREA’s policy recommendations. These recommendations include the creation of a New Home Builder Code of Ethics to protect Ontario home buyers and a commitment to enhance a tax incentive program meant to encourage the redevelopment of underused lands and support new housing starts in the province.
During a year full of unprecedented market activity and societal uncertainty due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Hudak also led OREA as it works to protect Ontario REALTORS®, their clients, and their communities. Under Hudak, OREA continued to step up by providing guidance for safe real estate transactions, relaying government announcements to Members, and providing support to communities across the province through charities and donations.
“It’s an honour once again to be recognized by the SP 200 as a leader in the real estate industry,” said Hudak. “I’d like to thank our President, David Oikle, OREA’s Board of Directors, our Members, the Government of Ontario, and OREA staff for their role in helping to bring affordability home, as well as ensuring our 85,000 REALTORS® had the support and tools they need to succeed now and in the future.”
The 2022 list can be found at sp200.com. The list ranks the leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs from all sectors of the residential real estate brokerage industry based on months of intensive research, debate, and analysis.
