Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) CEO Tim Hudak was highlighted as one of real estate’s most influential leaders and executives in North America in the 10th annual Swanepoel Power 200 (SP 200), released this week by T3 Sixty, the residential real estate brokerage industry’s leading management consulting and research firm. The SP 200 highlights the real estate leaders and executives who have made an impact and will lead and shape the industry.

Led by Hudak, 2022 was a successful year for OREA’s government relations initiatives and advocacy efforts to tackle the housing affordability crisis in Ontario. He was appointed to the Government of Ontario’s Housing Affordability Task Force by Premier Doug Ford and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark, which explored measures to address housing affordability and resulted with all provincial political parties supporting the goal of building 1.5 million new homes.

Hudak also led OREA’s A Home for Everyone election campaign, which called on all political parties and candidates who ran in the 2022 provincial election to prioritize housing policies that will ensure all Ontarians have a fair shot at the Canadian Dream of home ownership. This effort, along with the support and leadership of Ontario REALTORS®, culminated in new pro-housing legislation being introduced in 2022, namely the Strong Mayors, Building Homes Act and the More Homes Built Faster Act.

2022 also saw OREA hosting the REALiTY+ Conference, the only real estate conference in Canada that offered special access to the biggest industry leaders from across the globe. Attended by some of the greatest minds in real estate, marketing, technology and politics, as well as over 1,200 of the top REALTORS® in Ontario and beyond, REALiTY+ was the place to be to learn what’s hot, what’s not, and where Canadian real estate is going.

“It’s a great honour to be recognized again by the SP 200 as one of the most influential leaders in North American real estate,” said Hudak. “I’d like to acknowledge and thank our President, Stacey Evoy, our 92,000 Members and 34 Member Boards, the Ford government, and OREA staff for working to ensure that housing affordability remains top of mind and that future generations have a fair shot at getting the keys to their own home.”

The 2023 list can be found at sp200.com. The list ranks the leaders, executives, and entrepreneurs from all sectors of the residential real estate brokerage industry based on months of intensive research, debate, and analysis.
