A group of Ontario motorcycle-riding Realtors will roll out of town today as part of the 11th annual Motorcycle Ride for Charity. Riders started in Newmarket and will end in Sudbury, with stops along the way to help raise funds for the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, which supports homeless shelters and charities across the province.

“The Toronto Real Estate Board and its members are proud to support the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation and fantastic initiatives such as the Motorcycle Ride for Charity,” says Larry Cerqua, president, Toronto Real Estate Board. “It’s exciting that our members will have the opportunity to participate in an enriching experience that allows them to give back to those in need while seeing new places and meeting new faces.”

The ride has taken place every summer since 2006, with increasing amounts pledged each year. Since its inception, the riders, along with boards and associations, family and friends have worked hard to raise over $322,000, with 100% of these funds going to the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation. This year’s goal is $25,000. Last year, the foundation gave out $926, 000 in grants to charities across the province. Since its inception, the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation has granted nearly $5.5 million on behalf of Ontario Realtors to shelter-based organizations across the province.

“Being a Realtor requires a lot of time on the road, so it’s completely fitting that one of our biggest fundraising successes is a motorcycle ride throughout the province,” says Ray Ferris, president, Ontario Real Estate Association. “This ride is a chance for our members to visit new corners of the province, meet fellow Realtors and community members, all while raising money for a great cause.” For more information about the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation and Motorcycle Ride for Charity, visit www.realtorscareontario.ca.
