Changes to existing forms

Several other forms were changed including the Seller Property Information Statement (SPIS) and the Registrant's Statement.

Several other forms were changed including the Seller Property Information Statement (SPIS) and the Registrant's Statement. Sections have been added to the SPIS relating to oil tanks and grow houses due to the increased attention and concern regarding these issues.

As well, the Registrant's Statement as a Buyer and the Registrant's Statement as a Seller have been updated to conform to the wording of the RECO Code of Ethics.

Two changes were made that affect all OREA standard forms. First of all, any form that consists of more than one page will have a place added for initials of the parties on the page that is not being signed.

The Standard Forms Committee decided this change was necessary because legal documents are often faxed between parties.

The second change was the numbering system for all OREA standard forms which has been completely updated to accommodate the addition of the seven new forms as well as any future new forms, and to help distinguish the different types of forms. See the attached chart showing the new forms.
