More benefit from OREA College courses

The Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) has partnered with OREA Real Estate College to offer the online course Recognizing Structural Deficiencies in Homes.

The Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) has partnered with OREA Real Estate College to offer the online course Recognizing Structural Deficiencies in Homes. The partnership offers Alberta REALTORS 24-hour access to the well-developed course.

The course was chosen for its content and relevance. Recognizing Structural Deficiencies in Homes teaches simple visual techniques to recognize a major structural deficiency in a home, including:

  • visual clues that the house may be shifting;
  • the difference between a floor sag and a floor slope; and
  • the difference between a serious foundation crack and a crack that has no structural significance.

The OREA course is one of three new online courses that AREA is offering to its members. AREA’s Director of Education, Dianne Dodsworth, Ph.D. said that AREA was keen to initiate a partnership with OREA to help provide the real estate industry in Alberta  with a greater selection of courses.

OREA is looking for other partnership opportunities and is “committed to ongoing professional development for real estate professionals,” said Ozzie Logozzo, Director, OREA Real Estate College.
