This fall marks the launch of an exciting new campaign to promote the value of REALTORS®.

As reported in last month’s issue of the EDGE newsletter, the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) initiated an advertising campaign featuring television commercials, billboards and social media, along with the creation of a consumer website, www.wedothehomework.ca.

The ads are accompanied by an extensive media relations campaign that aims to promote REALTOR® professionalism and send the message about the value of using a REALTOR® to consumers across the province.

The media relations campaign has had several high profile successes recently. Television personality Sandra Rinomato, an Ontario REALTOR®, appeared on CTV’s Canada AM on Sept. 25 as a spokesperson for the campaign. She was interviewed as part of a seven-minute segment of questions and answers with the program’s co-hosts to demonstrate the complexity of real estate transactions and the need for a REALTOR® to provide consumers with expert advice and knowledge. The Canada AM program has a potential audience reach of 995,000 viewers – huge exposure for the campaign and the message: REALTORS® we do the homework. Rinomato was also interviewed on broadcaster John Tory’s radio program, Live Drive, on Sept. 26, which has a potential audience reach of 56,300. To listen to the program, click on the following link: http://bit.ly/OREAfastbinder

This year to date, 844 stories have appeared in print and online as well as on the radio and television. More media exposure is anticipated in the weeks ahead. The goals of the advertising and public relation campaign are to enhance the public perception of REALTORS® and to demonstrate to members the benefits and value of OREA.
