An RBC Royal Bank/Ipsos-Reid study shows that when they get older, proximity to friends and family is the most important external factor (46 per cent) in a home for Canadians. Living close to the people already in our lives ranks well ahead of features of the home (28 per cent) and being close to medical services (26 per cent). But while closeness to family is obviously important, only three in ten (31 per cent) Canadians think they would enjoy living with their children when they get older.
