York Board dissolves

The York Region Real Estate Board was dissolved on July 1, to better serve all REALTORS® within the board’s boundaries.

The York Region Real Estate Board was dissolved on July 1, to better serve all REALTORS® within the board’s boundaries. The decision affects the Board’s 265 members who are also members of the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB).  TREB has agreed to honour the commitment of the York Board to provide those members with a comprehensive package of continuing education, and OREA will help in the commitment by offering those members online continuing education.

TREB already provides MLS® services to its 6,400 member REALTORS® in York Region. Of those, 265 REALTORS® are also members of the York Board. TREB will maintain the York office with some on-site staff as a satellite office.

“This agreement will ensure that the York Region board members and the 6,400 other REALTORS® in the boundaries serviced by that Board, will receive an even more comprehensive educational offering,” said Gerry Weir, President of the Ontario Real Estate Association. “And that education will be delivered locally, within those boundaries.”
