Charity motorcycle ride a success

This year’s Motorcycle Ride for Charity was a great success, with organizers anticipating that funds raised to support the REALTORS CARE Foundation may total more than $50,000 once all pledges are in. Proceeds raised from the riders’ fundraising efforts go to shelter-based charities throughout the province.

Riders have visited 41 of 42 real estate boards across the province over the past few years, and a smaller ride to the remaining board in Thunder Bay is taking place in late July. The main ride took place July 13 to 15 from Toronto to Ottawa, with stops at real estate boards along the way. A total of 36 people took part in the ride with some doing sections of the route while others covered the entire stretch.

“The ride was great,” said Roman Havlin, a REALTOR® from Toronto who travelled the entire route. “We saw some great places in Ontario that I’d never seen before, and they were incredibly hospitable to us at every board we visited.

The most important thing is that we as real estate professionals are giving back to our communities by fundraising for shelters, and we met a lot of representatives from the charities we support. I had a great time and can’t wait to go again next year.”
