The Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) has given its support to victims of Hurricane Katrina with a donation of $100,000 US to the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) REALTORS Relief Foundation. NAR is working in conjunction with state associations to provide housing aid and assistance to those who need it most as a result of this enormous natural disaster.

“We can empathize with the people affected by Hurricane Katrina,” says Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) President Tamer Fahmi. “The devastation in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama is unfathomable, and we have an obligation to help our neighbours.”

The money will be earmarked to help members of the REALTOR family. All contributions made to the REALTORS Relief Foundation will go to disaster relief in the disaster-stricken regions, and NAR will absorb all administrative costs of the project.
