“Sell” book updated

Guiding sellers through the sale of their home is always easier if they come into the process with some knowledge.

Guiding sellers through the sale of their home is always easier if they come into the process with some knowledge. The “How to Sell Your Home” consumer book has been updated to better reflect the changes in practice that have come about because of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act, 2002, and to better reflect the current products and services offered to home buyers and sellers.

Representation is clarified for consumers, as well as what a REALTOR® is and does and how she or he protects the consumer’s best interest.

The book explains how to find and work with a REALTOR®, lawyer and other professionals; the ways to determine a realistic asking price; how sellers can market their homes effectively; what to do when they receive an offer; and how the sale is completed. It also provides tips on how the seller can enhance the home’s appearance, and details some of the terms used in residential real estate transactions.

How to Sell Your Home is available to members at cost, just $3 each. To order, contact your real estate board. Consumers can call 1-800-563-HOME to obtain a free copy.
