1969 OREA president Albert Fish dies

The Ontario Real Estate Association is sad to report that 1969 president Albert Fish passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Guelph. He was 83.

The Ontario Real Estate Association is sad to report that 1969 president Albert Fish passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Guelph. He was 83.

Fish served as president of the Guelph and District Real Estate board in 1963. He served on several OREA committees before becoming president in 1969 and served on several CREA committees and as vice president for two years before becoming president in 1973.

Fish was elected world president of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) in 1986 after serving as FIABCI-Canada president in 1978-79. He served as a member of the governing council of the Real Estate Institute of Canada for five years, and was awarded the Counselor in Real Estate designation by the American Society of Real Estate Counselors. He also taught appraisal courses at Conestoga College in Kitchener.

In 1979, Fish was elected as the Progressive Conservative MP for Guelph in Joe Clark’s minority government.
