OREA sets pace for instructors

OREA Real Estate College standards are now national standards in terms of instructor assessment and recognition.

OREA Real Estate College standards are now national standards in terms of instructor assessment and recognition.

The Alliance for Canadian Real Estate Education (ACRE) has adopted OREA’s Real Estate Instructor (REI) designation (the highest level of instructor achievement) as the national model and designation. That means instructors wanting the designation, in all provinces, will be striving for the standards set by OREA.

ACRE will also be using OREA’s Instructor Assessment Model for ongoing assessment of instructors.

“Our commitment to education includes not only our student training, but also the trainer’s training,” said Ozzie Logozzo, Director, OREA Real Estate College. “We’re honoured to have ACRE adopt our criteria for the national programs.”

REI designees must meet formal education, continuing education, teaching, professional membership and service to the industry requirements, and must pass an exam. The assessment is based on the student course evaluation, a course assessment, as well as peer and self evaluation.
