OREA exam replaces CAAT for admissions

Applicants to OREA’s Salesperson Registration Education Program can now write the OREA Real Estate College’s own real-estate focused Admissions Test to comply with the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 mandated ‘Grade 12 or equivalent’ admissions requirement to our program.

Applicants to OREA’s Salesperson Registration Education Program can now write the OREA Real Estate College’s own real-estate focused Admissions Test to comply with the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 mandated ‘Grade 12 or equivalent’ admissions requirement to our program.

The exam tests the applicant’s English comprehension and math problem-solving skills, and replaces the Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) for applicants who do not have the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

OREA offers the three hour exam at each of our 22 exam locations every Saturday.

Soon, the exam will be offered online, five days a week, at our computer lab located at the OREA Don Mills offices. The results from the online tests will be immediately sent to the student’s My Portfolio account, and if the student is successful, My Portfolio will take them directly to the Enrolment Contract that confirms their personal information, explains the program, and all terms and conditions of enrolment. All applicants are required to accept the contract before proceeding to enrol in Real Estate as a Professional Career, the initial course in The Salesperson Registration Education Program.

The College intends to implement online testing for all registration education courses.
